NetFreight is the new freight management software package from Impatex for Air, Ocean, Road, Courier and Domestic forwarding, which includes Imports and Exports for UK Customs.
NetFreight is a web-based software package, written in .NET/SQL, which can run on the customer’s own server or be hosted by an Internet Service Provider (ISP).
NetFreight is designed for easy access anywhere in the world, requiring only internet access. This is particularly useful for remote offices abroad, where data communication may be weak or bandwidth is limited on conventional Wide Area Networks (WANS). Also, with less hardware being required for NetFreight and with broadband being relatively cheap, this makes running costs for NetFreight much lower than systems requiring Terminal Servers.
NetFreight provides an ‘electronic filing cabinet’, thereby saving huge amounts of paper and storage. It enables any document to be stored against the Job File, whether it is produced by NetFreight or forwarded by a client, enabling users and clients to access documents by Job or Client reference.
NetFreight is charged on a per-user basis, although free access can be provided to clients and overseas agents, who would have limited access and restricted functionality.
NetFreight includes a sophisticated Document Generator enabling the company to design its own documents, although a full set of standard documents such as IATA MAWB, FIATA, Bill of Lading, Standard Shipping Note and CMR are provided, along with a comprehensive set of standard documents for Collection and Delivery Notes, Advice of Arrivals, Clearance and Invoices, which can be modified by users.
NetFreight includes a very powerful Report Generator, where users can report on any combination of data fields within the software to provide extensive reporting for financial and operational needs. Alternatively, third-party reporting programs can be used such as ‘Crystal Reports’.
NetFreight, because it is web-based, is particularly useful for access by clients and overseas agents for Online Quotes, Bookings and Track & Trace facilities, requiring no software installation or third-party software/service.
