Notice to exporters - Amendments to Open General Licenses

Sri Lanka has been removed from the permitted destinations and added to the excluded destinations on a number of Open General Licences.

The Department of Business, Innovation and Skills has amended a number of Open General Licences to exclude Sri Lanka. This follows a review of Open General Licences in light of the Government’s continuing concerns over the situation in Sri Lanka. The amended licences will enter into force on 15th January 2010, details are given below:

Sri Lanka has been added to the list of excluded destinations in the following licences,

* OGEL (Technology for Military Goods)
* OGEL (Export after repair/replacement under warranty: Military Goods)
* OGEL (Export After Exhibition or Demonstration: Military Goods)
* OGEL (Export for repair/replacement under warranty: Military Goods)
* OGEL (Military Goods: For Demonstration)
* OGEL (Military Surplus Vehicles)
* OGEL (Technology for Dual-Use Items)
* OGEL (Export for Repair/Replacement Under Warranty: Dual-Use Items)
* OGEL (Low Value Shipments)
* OGEL (X)
* OGEL (Export After Exhibition: Dual-Use Items)
* OGEL (Export After Repair/replacement under warranty: Dual-use Items)
* Open General Trade Control Licence (Category C Goods).
