Exel were a user of our software for over 20 years, before merging with DHL, who also uses our Customs software.
As MSAS, they chose Impatex software when DTI was first introduced at Felixstowe in 1984. This was followed up by all their seafreight offices as they adopted DTI, and also by their airfreight offices when ACP90 was introduced in 1989. After CHIEF was introduced in 1994, MSAS adopted ASM2000 for their airfreight offices for a few years, but in 1998 they reverted to our DOS-based MCS software for DTI and ERTS when we developed our own direct link to CCS-UK, which they ran on Local Area Networks at each office. With the introduction of our Windows-based Customs Manager software, it became possible to run the new software on centralised Terminal Server systems, which Exel used initially for the New Export System (NES) for all their offices in October 2002. In 2004, Visual Broker was used on the Terminal Server to replace MCS at all their sea port offices, followed by all their airport offices, some of which use Visual ERTS. Also, Exel switched from their MIC software for CFSP and adopted Visual CFSP and Visual Warehousing for all their Duty Management processing. Exel were one of Impatex's biggest customers, running up to 80 concurrent users for 12 offices from their Terminal Server system, before becoming part of DHL. |
